Beaches, Kangaroos and Wine

Hey everyone! Well it has been two weeks that I have been here in Australia and it has been amazing. I am enjoying everything that comes my way. I have yet to experience culture shock which is nice, I guess. I have been taking many pictures of the strange and random things I have been seeing around the city. Melbourne reminds me of NYC so much with all it’s light and many people walking around. Except Aussies are way nicer than New Yorkers. I have come to learn that Australians are very honest and up front with people, just my kind of place! As for the other students I have met they are super cool too. There are a lot of Germans this semester as well as many Americans studying at Swinburne. Everyone I have meet has been super nice. I have been on a couple of student excursions with the other international students, like one evening we went to the beach at St. Kilda, we went to the Healesville Santuary and then did some wine tasting at a local winery which was a nice experience. I think that most fun thing was when we got to feed the kangaroos at the Healesville Sanctuary, I never thought I would do that in my life. I have also been experiencing the college night life here too. I’m not much of a party person myself but I figured every now and then it would be okay to try something out of the ordinary for me. It has definitely been an experience that I will never forget.

But today is going to be my first day of classes and I am a little nervous to find out what the classes are going to be like. But I’m going in with an open mind and I’m going to make the best of it!
